Visakhapatnam: Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) hosted its 9th annual convocation, marking a significant milestone in its journey of academic excellence.

A total of 378 students graduated this year, including 153 women, in a grand ceremony attended by distinguished guests, faculty, and proud families. Chairperson of the Board of Governors (BoG) Hari S Bhartia, formally declared the convocation open.

The highlight of the event was the Convocation Address by the Chief Guest, Puneet Yadu Dalmia, Managing Director & CEO of Dalmia Bharat Group. Drawing from his own experiences, he inspired graduates to dream big, take risks, and embrace failure as a stepping stone to success. His message encouraged students to be bold, kind, and patriotic as they embark on their professional journeys.

Addressing the gathering, Hari S Bhartia congratulated the graduating students and acknowledged the contributions of faculty and staff in shaping future leaders. He spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship, urging students to pursue innovation and excellence in their careers. He also commended the founding director and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to excellence.

Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director of IIMV presented the his report, highlighting the institution’s remarkable growth over the past decade. He emphasised key achievements, including the expansion of executive education programs from 8 in 2020 to 208 today, strengthened financial stability, cutting-edge infrastructure, the upcoming launch of a modular MBA program for defense

executives, and contributions to entrepreneurship through IIMV-FIELD.

Chandrasekhar also underscored various sustainability initiatives, including efforts by the Centre for Responsible Management Education.
